Bonnie Valens, from the City of Edgewood, and myself have finished the entry form and cooking guidelines for this year’s “Edgewood’s Best Chicken & Ribs” competition at the annual Edgewood City Picnic on August 8, 2009, in Edgewood, Washington, at Edgemont Park.
The picnic itself will commence at 11am and wind down at 5pm. We have made special arrangements to start the “load in” process for “Edgewood’s Best Chicken & Ribs” at 8am.
Below, you will find the entry form and the rules for this year’s event. If you want to print the entry form, you can highlight the contents of the application, copy and paste to Word or Notepad. Or you can stop by the new City Hall in Edgewood, and pick up a copy. This year’s Grand Champion trophy will be on display at City Hall as well, until August 2nd. I don’t which is “shinier”…the new City Hall…or the trophy. Drop in and check both of them out.
There will be updates on this site periodically. Look for articles on the different categories in this year’s contest, such as “How to Prepare Turn-In Boxes”, "What the Judges Look For in a Winning Entry", "How the Scoring Works", different recipes for Corn on the Cob, Sausages, and of course, Chicken & Ribs. If you have any questions, you may call me at 253-770-9561, or email me at applecreek_woodman@applecreektimberinc.com .
So make your plans now, to help us celebrate the BIGGEST little picnic in the area. See you there!
